OUR STORY

How we started

 

My name is MJ and I'm the owner/creator/baker of Yum Rum Sweets, a start up company in hopes of providing delicious desserts in a healthier way.​

 

I started baking in 2009 in my hometown of Miami and have made banana bread ​and cake multiple times, but once I decided to add rum to the cake and frosting, you could really taste the rum the second time I made it, that's where yum rum sweets was born, only now it's healthier sweets.

Since I have 2 vegan cousins, I've made many vegan and more nutritional sweets and would like to continue that tradition. I now make mostly vegan desserts and try to use the best ingredients, I also try to make some gluten free and recently started with sugar free. I started a raw challenge and made my first raw dessert.

 

Now in late October 2013 moved my business up north to Hastings on Hudson, NY and will hopefully grow here.
